Robert’s Message

We as a people, as a race of human beings, must wake up to the harm we are doing to each other and what we are doing to this planet Earth, and seek peace, harmony, and unity amongst all living things. That is the only hope we have of saving ourselves and our sacred Mother Earth.


 

Robert “Black Eagle” Costa is an Elder Citizen of the Southeastern Muscogee Nation. Currently residing in Apalalchee, GA. Robert is a storyteller, minister, educator, musician and activist. He has received two degrees in psychology from Florida State University and Georgia State University, and he studied at Emory University’s  Candler School of Theology for three years.

As demonstrated in his years of service to others, Robert has devoted his life to opening the eyes and hearts of young people, students, churches and more about the history of hardships and current struggles faced by the Native American people that too often go untold. Interwoven in the account of his own life is the narrative of the Indigenous People of America, and how they were removed from their own land multiple times since The Indian Removal Act, was signed into law on 28 May 1830, by President Andrew Jackson. He recounts the timeline of the past, educates with information about the current adversities his people face today, and shares his hopes for the future of harmony and true understanding among all people. To this end Robert created the Seventh Generation Native American Church.

Robert sets himself apart from traditional storytelling by performing original instrumental compositions for solo guitar. He can custom make an educational, engaging, and entertaining musical narrative program for any event. Through his words and his music, it is Robert’s mission to share his message of enlightenment, understanding, perseverance.  He speaks of his conviction that life is a Journey of Magic and Miracles.
